Simon (aged 26) works for City investment managers, Schroders. His work involves analysing company annual reports, meeting with sector experts and company directors, chairing meetings, visiting companies and assessing their potential investment value. He reports his conclusions to fund managers who make the final decision. He describes his training and how his interest in finance and banking was triggered by a practical maths exercise at school. During holidays he did work experience with different City organisations to discover what role would suit him best. After an internship with Schroders he took a permanent position in the 15-man fund management team.
